Whest Preamp

It looks like some of the new Jan. 29 batch is tagged with the "Whest" preamp in the tag comments.  Anyone done any comparisons yet?

He started using Whest Three Signature in his September 2025 batch, so not a "new" preamp 😉
I'm not a comparisons guy, but I am very pleased with my own Whest Audio Two 2.0.
The "Three Signature" is supposed to be a much more detailed preamp, and the archives he has done with it sound very good.

Thanks for the info... I must not be paying attention.  I listened to some of the albums marked "Whest" in the tag comments (Iron Maiden, Miles Davis, Nico) and thought they sounded so tight and crisp that it must be a new configuration.  That Miles Davis is a gem... we listened to that and just drifted to the pristine sound.

I'll add the three Rhino ZZ Top's to the list. Hearing new details resulting an a thoroughly enjoyable revisit to these classics. Thank you!

Yeah... they sound great.  I'm not even the world's biggest ZZ Top fan, but I immediately noticed how nice and crisp they sounded.  Sometimes I tend to listen to some of these albums I would tend not to as much simply because of how nice they sound.

I thought it would be helpful to post this here seeing as a discussion has been going on about the linage elsewhere and it would be helpful to clarify with PBTHALS own explanation ..I hope thats ok with Pat ..

I bought the Whest used because I had always read good things about them and wanted to try one. Got one and did a few rips with it but never really got into it..it never made it into the "rotation" and I was plannig to use it in my "music room" addtion of my house. Fast forward to like 2 weeks ago or so and I was having noise issues upstairs so I tried everything, no go..this was with the Chinook and Technics. As a troubleshooting step I plugged in the whest...tried a couple of rips and was like hmmm..this sounds pretty good...did the ARS Champagne Jam album and was whoa....
The only thing I can think of is I got new headphones, I stopped using the Sennheiser PX-250's I had been using since 2010
So then I started looking at the Whest line and was planning on selling the Black Ice and CHinook and see if I could get a step in the Whest chain. I started talking to the owner of Whest and we had a lot in common and he cut me an amazing deal on their second from the top phono stage that was just used at a German audio show. SO that will replace the Technics/Whest 3
The manley oasis/Vpi Reflektor remains downstairs in the loop

I have also talked to the WhestAudio owner, and he is very nice guy. Always willing to help out, highly recommended.

Looks like the new Whest series is "The British are Coming".

I didn't realise that all the latest batch were done with the Whest but now I have checked all the ones I have downloaded I realise they are..
