Raven`s Wiped Out - is this how its supposed to sound?

First of all, thanks to Patrick for the new rips. Our admiration and gratitude for his work can never be too much!
I had never heard Raven`s Wiped Out album on any format before. Yesterday, I finally listened to it for the first time. Musically, it’s brilliant!
However, I was surprised by the way it sounds. Is this how the album was originally recorded, or could it be an issue with this particular version?

The original recording is not great to my ears. I also have the High Roller to compare with, and while the HR does sound a little less muffled, it also sounds tinny, less dynamic and overall weaker in my opinion. The remastered CD sounds similar to the HR, but with a little more compression.

Comparing the eq curves, the HR looks boosted beginning at about 2K-7K, then rolls off pretty significantly at about 10K. Both are pretty much identical below 2K.

The remastered CD resembles the HR for the most part but has a little less bass/lower mid-range.
