March 2024 Thank You

I want to thank you for the Steamhammer S/T rip. I owned several CDs of this album, but sound wise were very problematic with boosted treble and compression. I can finally enjoy this great British-blues album. The sound is reminiscent of Tull's This Was, but with Martin Pugh's distinctive guitar. I've always enjoyed Martin's guitar including the other Steamhammer albums and single Armageddon album.

On a humorous note, I tried out the two Hydra rips, and was very surprised how good they sound. These albums were recorded very well, and the band really cooks. So why was I surprised? In 1975, I saw Hydra open up for Alvin Lee at the Boston Music Hall, and they were one of the worst opening acts that I experienced. Unintelligible vocals and a wall of undistinguished sound. 49 years later, I gave them another shot, and I'm glad that I did! Thanks PBTHAL for these rips and all your work migrating the archive to a new upgraded platform!

I agree, I was excited to see those and both (Eagles) are wonderful.  I'm also loving the 4LP Lamb rip, plus the Roger Waters, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Phil Collins, and several of the 7"s.

I want to thank you for the 2nd batch of March 2024 archives, specifically the Crosby, Stills And Nash and Otis Redding Atlantic 75 albums as these sound great.

Also enjoyed the Fela with Ginger Baker Live album. Back in 1972, I was introduced the the Afro-Beat music of Fela Kuti through Ginger Baker's Stratavarious album. While I no longer have that album, the Live album allowed me to once again enjoy their musical collaboration. (though Ginger only drums on two of the four songs)

The surprise album for me was the Strawberry Alarm Clock – Wake Up…It’s Tomorrow album. While I was around for the release of Incense and Peppermints from their first album, I was not familiar with their other songs. SAC provide an interesting and enjoyable combination of psychedelia, jazz and harmony vocals. While some of the lyrics are a bit dated, it's still an enjoyable listen from beginning to the end. Also of note is Ed King being the SAC lead guitarist prior to joining Lynyrd Skynyrd.
