File downloads failing
Quote from mediaforsale on March 8, 2024, 3:52 amAnyone else having issues with file downloads failing? Have tried to download probably 10 of the most recent posting (Feb 2024); half work, half fail. No rhyme or reason to those working vs failing - seems random.
Purchased a premium Hexload account so doubt it's some limitation.

Quote from mediaforsale on March 8, 2024, 8:17 pmIt won't even get to the point of unzipping, the download itself fails. And it's only some files, not all. Some download perfectly fine; others start to download but fail to complete.

Quote from Drybonz on March 8, 2024, 9:30 pmI grabbed most of the Feb 24 files... no download failures and none failed to unzip. I used Real Debrid.

Quote from mediaforsale on March 9, 2024, 12:01 amI've tried disabling antivirus, firewall, etc and still can't get the ones that fail to work. Makes no sense....the Van Halen MFSL - no problem. Motley Crue Shout....will start to download, spool until it gets to the very end, then simply fail. Like I mentioned about half work, half don't (that I tried).
I had no problems with FF either, thought it worked great. But am largely indifferent about whatever host gets used - so long as it works.

Quote from foxmx120 on March 9, 2024, 1:26 amI think what you may be experiencing is the host server overloaded or undergoing maintenance.
I use a download manager for everything (jDownloader) and it shows the server information where I'm downloading from, so it shows the actual server "name" and not just from "hexload.com". One or two of the files that I've downloaded have shown a server maintenance error, while another few from what appears to be a different server were extremely slow (even though I have a hexload premium account). A re-download a few hours later seemed to fix them. It almost seems like it could be a time of day issue where some of their servers are getting hammered. Just remember that hexload is hosting tons of other files besides these archives, so there may be something else that is very popular that people are going after, causing the servers to be slow or unstable.

Quote from mediaforsale on March 9, 2024, 1:35 amAppreciate the insight, and would certainly make sense. Perhaps the changeover increased the general activity (folks being reminded to download). I've been trying over the course of several days since the news posted with no luck for those that continually fail, but will keep trying.
In the grand scheme it's nothing more than a minor annoyance - I was more interested whether other folks are having the same issue and may have found a solution. The reality is that anything I'm able to download is a pleasure to get; if I can't get a specific title, oh well. It's amazing that someone (PB) is willing to put the time and effort into sharing these, and it's much appreciated in any capacity or amount.
