Without premium I'm currently getting 5 kb/s. Yes, kb, not mb.

You are not alone. 5kb/sec (maximum). When PB put up the initial test links, the speeds were decent (way better than the 30kb/sec speed they advertise for free users). Then it dropped to 10kb/sec, and finally, 5. I thought they might be getting temporarily hammered. Well, it's been 5kb for quite a while now, along with a high chance of failure. DDL appears to be paying a CDN (ucdn.to) for their services. If premium users are ultimately affected, maybe the situation will change.

Yeah, for me, like I was saying above, it just turned out to be VPN related and I just needed to switch settings, but I'm also using a paid subscription... I'm sure it's possible that their free service is not good.
